Landing page


The landing page is the page on your site that your ad clicks through to.  Mostly it is a mistake to take the visitor to your Home page and let him navigate from there.  He’s likely to go elsewhere.
You may be running a site that sells a variety of clothes and you have an ad with a special offer on jeans.  It’s obvious you’re going to get on better if you take those that click on your special offer to a page that says, straight away:

"Special offer on jeans"

...and then says whatever else your visitor needs to know about the offer and the product.
